What is a meme?

It is blatant that most youngsters look at least at one meme a day. They make us happy and put a smile on our face but where does the name meme come from?

You would be surprised to find out that it doesn't come from the internet...

First of all, a meme is a unit from the internet which can be transformed in a plethora of ways. For instance taking a picture of Lebron James and putting a picture of Michael Jordan on his face.

Regardless, a meme comes from biology. A biologist had cooked up with this name when he had found out that genes aren't the only thing that spread,mutated and evolved. It is a composition of two words from Latin.

Now, a meme is an idea that is ubiquitous, mostly on the internet. One of the first memes on the internet is the 'Dancing Baby' which is played on 'Hooked on a feeling' by Blue Sweed.
