Human Nature and Fear

I would like to start by saying that even now, during this pandemic, there is a big discrepancy between people. There are rich people who flee out of virus epicentres in order to protect themselves and there are the rest who live in cramped places, protecting themselves from the imminent epidemic.

For instance, both Italy and France two of the most affected countries in Europe have seen similar actions made by people. In Italy, people didn't linger in the north regions and went to the south regions in order to avoid it. Unfortunately, it was only lop-sided. They had not thought that this way, they may take the virus with them. Therefore, most cases those are in Sicily right now, on a daily basis, come from Italians that are from Lombardy. We may say that we can see this emulated in France, where a plethora of Parisians fled out of the city and went to different islands. They all looked at it as a vacation. Therefore people can't understand why they aren't allowed to go to the beach and have a walk around the city. Because the government had seen that most people didn't listen to their advice to stay at home, they started hindering them from doing so. They get penalties, tickets or warnings. Another aspect that they all do wrong is that they bring fear with them. Furthermore, they can't understand that islands can't withstand a large number of cases.

In comparison to Italy and France, other countries had forbidden their citizens from going to vacation homes during quarantine.

For instance, in Romania, we have a different story. There are hundreds of thousands of people that had come home because they work abroad. We couldn't stop them from coming home. Moreover, authorities didn't stop people from going to the rural places but they didn't let them go to mountains or at sea as if going on vacation, which, in my opinion, is normal. Unfortunately, people hoard at grocery stores, something that is on a daily basis in countless countries.

Given the above mentions, we may see that self-preservation had taken a different route. People have become more arrogant and headstrong and only think about themselves. Regardless, we may still see self-preservation in all of this mayhem. Therefore, I don't think that arrogance rules the world.
