A Year Without Sports

27.03.2020

It is, without a doubt, already known that the Tokyo Olympics, the English Premier League, the NBA and the Boston Marathon are only a few from the plethora of contests that have been postponed until Coronavirus gets eradicated.

Although it might not seem a problem that is going to affect a lot, it brings solidarity to humans and joy. It connects all of us. Furthermore, when you go to watch a sport, we whip up all the sportsmen and sportswomen.

It also affects the economic side. In 2019, it had a huge role in the economy of a plethora of countries. This year, Japan had to host the 2020 Olympics.

In comparison to other countries, the  Japanese aren't as stressed as the people from other countries. Even though they have an outstanding number of 1300 cases, they didn't put themselves in quarantine, as other countries would have done. They are also more strict on testing than other countries, Japanese believing that hospitals shouldn't be overcrowded.

People are going to work, trains are crowded as usual and people still go out at evening or at night. Moreover, they are used to be more social distanced. Therefore, they didn't change their daily routine that much.

Even though Japan has the oldest people on Earth, they continue doing sports, living a healthy life and, to some extent, they are more protected, given the fact that they have a state of the art health care system.

Another aspect that affects Japan is the decrease of their GDP. This has been engendered, first of all, by the Olympics and, second of all, by tourism.

Furthermore, in comparison to other countries, citizens aren't allowed  to buy a plethora of face masks and gloves, given the fact that they are mandatory for the health care system.
